'Aldo Manuzio Renaissance in Venice' at the Accademia Galleries until 19 June

Aldus Manutius was the inventor of the modern book and founder of the Aldine Press, but he was much more than that, an entrepreneurial inventor, who at a crucial moment for Venice art and culture, provided the means by which the rediscovery of antiquity could be shared by artists, poets and a wider literary society of humanists and disseminated through Western Europe.
