Acqua Alta 19 Appeal

Acqua Alta 19 Appeal

Contributions of all sizes have been received, the Italian Embassy in London hosted a Venetian gala evening and the Gladwell & Patterson Gallery has raised funds through its 'Secrets of Venice' exhibition.

On March 2 there will be an opportunity for Friends of Venice in Peril and donors to the Appeal to join a private visit to the RIBA Drawings Collection at the V&A to see its unparalleled collection of Palladio drawings, with proceeds going to the Acqua Alta 2019 Appeal. (See Events.)

The funds raised by the Appeal will go, in part, to a clean up and prevention project at San Nicolò dei Mendicoli, a parish church with which Venice in Peril has been associated since the 1970s. A second project has been identified and will be announced shortly and a further sum is being kept in reserve pending full assessment of damage to other monuments by the Venice heritage authorities.

If you have enjoyed a visit to Venice recently, are planning one, or wish to be part of the international efforts to save the city - please donate today.
