Camilla pounds the streets for Venice

Antiques Trade Gazette, Dealers' Diary by David Moss. 24 November 2010

JUST a couple of weeks ago I ran a photograph of Nynke van der Ven of the Dutch dealers Vanderven & Vanderven Oriental Art training for a charity run as part of the New York Marathon.

This week, by coincidence, pictured left is another marathon woman as Camilla Purdon, a director of the Cork Street, Mayfair art dealers Messums crosses the line at the Venice Marathon and in the process raised £11,000 for the Venice in Peril Fund.

Camilla completed her marathon in a most creditable 4 hours 27 minutes.

And I can report Nynke also completed her New York marathon after a gruelling 5hrs and 3 minutes. She has the medal to prove it and raised over ?8000 (and still counting) for children with Rett Syndrome.
Well done Camilla and Nynke, but that is enough marathons and other charity stories for the time being.
