Palazzo Grimani

Hidden at the end of a narrow calle off the Ruga Giuffa, just before it leads into Campo Sta Maria Formosa, this wonderful Renaissance palazzo, in which the great collector Cardinal Grimani housed his collection of classical sculpture against frescoed walls, has repoened to the public after many years in restauro. Venice in Peril financed the research into the whereabouts of the disbursed pieces, of which there is a computer presentation. There are three tours a day, for a maximum of 30 people.
