Palazzo Grimani

Hidden at the end of a narrow calle off the Ruga Giuffa, just before it leads into Campo Sta Maria Formosa, this wonderful Renaissance palazzo, in which the great collector Cardinal Grimani housed his collection of classical sculpture against frescoed walls and in the specially designed tribuna, has repopened to the public after many years. Venice in Peril Fund financed the research into the whereabouts of the disbursed pieces, of which there is a computer presentation. Palazzo Grimani is open from Tusedays to Saturdays.
