A Joint event with the Oxford Literary Festival and the Bodleian Libraries
Lavinia Filippi will be in conversation with Katia Pizzi as part of a collaboration with the Oxford Literary Festival on her new book Venice Tales at 12noon, followed by lunch and a private curator-led visit to the Bodleian Library to view some Venetian treasures from their collection of Early Modern Manuscripts and Rare Books.

Lavinia Filippi in conversation with Dr Katia Pizzi about her exquisite new book, Venice Tales, a selection of short stories on Venice by Italian authors from Boccaccio and Marinetti to Calvino and contemporary writers.
One-course lunch at Quod Restaurant on Oxford High Street, 1.15-2.30pm
Private curator-led visit of Bodleian Libraries special collections, at the Weston Library, 2.45-4.30pm
Mike Webb, Curator of Early Modern Archives and Manuscripts and Alan Coates, Assistant Librarian of Rare Books and Specialist in incunabula, will share with us a selection of specially chosen Venetian treasures from the Bodleian collections. Reflecting the Venetian Republic’s involvement in trade and travel, politics and diplomacy, printing and bookbinding etc.
