Venice in Peril

In support of our mission to the preservation of culturally significant sites, Venice in Peril Fund strives to promote the advancement of knowledge in restoration and conservation for students and young professionals.

Our Education & Research Initiatives in Venice

Venice in Peril funds an annual internship for two CGLAS Conservation graduates, at the abbey of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice. The collaboration started in 2012, and every year since then two recent graduates have spent 10 weeks living at the abbey and working on conservation projects in the famous Palladian church.

Venice in Peril has committed to fund the first year of a new project at the Misericordia Scientific Laboratory, involving the Venice’s painting samples archive. Early-career art conservation scientist Dr Rosa Costantini joins the lab to conduct the project, supported by Prof. Lorenzo Lazzarini.
