Behind the Mask - Visions of Venice
An exhibition by Gerard Stamp, at Jonathan Cooper Gallery
An exhibition of new work by British artist Gerard Stamp, known for his monumental pictures and preoccupation with atmosphere. In this extraordinary exhibition of 24 watercolours and one charcoal drawing, all depicting Venice, he captures the character of the city through light, shadow and meticulous detail, with a particular focus on its architecture.
Gerard Stamp’s work is in private collections around the world and in public collections including the Royal Collection and Norwich Castle Art Gallery.
We are particularly grateful that Gerard Stamp and Jonathan Cooper are generously supporting Venice in Peril Fund’s Acqua Granda Appeal, marking the 60th anniversary of the 1966 floods, by donating a portion of the proceeds from exhibition sales to the Appeal.
