50th Anniversary Appeal

Trinity Wellhead - 50th Anniversary Appeal

2021 marks the 50th anniversary of  Venice in Peril Fund.

To mark this half century we are launching a 50th Anniversary Appeal for £100,000 to fund the conservation of the early 18th-century ‘Trinity’ wellhead in the great cloister of the Archivio di Stato, formerly convent of the Frari church.

This will be the first wellhead adopted by Venice in Peril and will be an opportunity to learn about the work of Venetian sculptor Francesco Penso, known as Cabianca (1665-1737), who created the Trinity group, set amoung billowing clouds and angels and mounted on an imposing arch above the well. Read more about the project here

And listen here to Jeremy Warren’s illustrated talk on Cabianca given live on 20 September to launch our Appeal.

Please donate to the 50th Anniversary Appeal.  conservation today is a gift for future generations.
