Venice Music Project Partnership
Since 2024, Venice in Peril Fund has partnered with Venice Music Project, the Italian and U.S. nonprofit organisation dedicated to the restoration and historic preservation of Venice’s lost musical treasures. Our collaboration aims to enhance engagement for both organisations across the UK and Venice, while bringing UK-based admirers of Venice closer to this iconic city.
Through this partnership, we promote a deeper appreciation of Venice via outreach initiatives and events. As Venice faces increasingly significant challenges, we hope to inspire more people to join us in making a meaningful difference. We also encourage supporters to consider becoming part of our partner’s network of donors and advocates, as every donation helps protect the art, music and history of Venice.
Donations are made to the Venice in Peril Fund (UK Charity No. 1186770). The Fund supports Venice Music Project through a dedicated restricted fund. Trustees retain ultimate discretion over the use of these funds, but intend to apply them to support Venice Music Project activities.
About Venice Music Project
Venice Music Project was founded in 2013 by a group of musicians whose careers had taken them around the world, but who wanted to make a difference for Venice. With a passion and commitment to “Musical Archaeology”— the rediscovery of lost musical treasures through research in archives and libraries — VMP has made research a focal part of its mission. However, music risks being lost again if it cannot be shared. VMP presents and shares its discoveries in concert series in Venice and around the world, and by offering modern editions of manuscripts for other organizations to perform and enjoy.
