To repair the two south windows framing the organ, St George’s Church

The storms and flooding in November 2019 damaged the exterior of the church. In particular the windows in the south of the church were further weakened by the strong winds and began leaking rain.

Awarded to two BA Conservation Graduates from City & Guilds of London Art School who spend three months with the Benedictine Community undertaking conservation maintenance in the Abbey church.

Iconostasis, Cathedral of Torcello

The iconostasis – a screen with icons between sanctuary and nave – is richly expressive of Veneto-Byzantine tradition. The stonework dates to 1100 and the paintings to the early 15C.
